An engine is initially delivered from Rolls-Royce to the RAF at a Main Operating Base (MOB) and accepted by the MOB Second Line Repair Facility, known as the Tornado Propulsion Flight (TPF). Each TPF has the capability to carry out engine strip, repair and overhaul down to module replacement, and in some instances can repair selected modules. Modules and components that are beyond the repair capability of the TPF are returned to Rolls-Royce or scrapped as beyond economical repair.
