This unit went to France with the BEF in 1939 and was evacuated.
Circa 1942 it sailed to India. It was in either Bangalore or Secunderabad there for jungle training. Joined 25th Indian Division and went into Burma, Arakan, circa March 1944. Was involved in the Tunnels battles near Maungdaw (See p181 et seq. "The Far East Theatre 1941-46" by General Sir Martin Farndale pub 2002). It remained in the Arakan, taking part in the advance down the Mayu peninsula, December 1944. Assaulting in Z Lighters Myebon, Kangaw. and Ruy-wa. Withdrawn to Akyab in March 1945. Sent to Ramree Island in April to join 26th Indian Division for the caprure by sea of Rangoon, where it became Garrison troops receiving returned FEPOWs and Officers returning to the UK on demobilisation. Subsequently to Central Burma and Hong Kong by 1947, where it was disbanded and became 25th Field Regiment RA. (E&OE)
