Two HMCS Algonquin have served the RCN.
The first a V class destroyer, originally built for the Royal Navy as HMS Valentine, she was transferred to the RCN upon completion.
She was taken out of service in 1946, refited in 1956 as a Type 15 Frigate. She was scrapped in 1971.
The second Algonquin is a Iroquois class destroyer, commissioned in 1973 she is still in service with the Royal Canadian Navy.
