Unit History: Parachute Regiment TA
The Parachute Regiment is the Airborne Infantry element of the British Army. It is considered an elite unit by virtue of its stringent selection process, rigorous training programme and by the requirement of its role to operate with minimal or no support behind enemy lines and against numerically superior forces. It forms the airborne infantry element of 16 Air Assault Brigade. According to The Parachute Regiment website, 58% of the British elite Special Air Service come directly from P company.
