joined HMNZS Santon whilst serving on HMS Blackpool in Singapore (pier head jump) as they were short of an RO for patrol purposes, transferred to HMS Puncheston (light jackstay) for return to Sembawang Naval Base and rejoin HMS Blackpool. Blackpool had just completed patrol around Borneo and Indonesia at time of transferr. I was told i would recei ve the Borneo campagne medal with the additional weeks on the sweepers, it never happened!!.
