Where did these records come from? A total of 14 volumes of the National Roll of the Great War were completed on a regional basis by the National Publishing Company covering a listing of over 110,000 participants in the war. The volumes are arranged into regions as follows:

  • Section IV: Southampton
  • Section V: Luton and area (including parts of Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire)
  • Section VI: Birmingham

  • Section X: Portsmouth
  • Section XI: Manchester
  • Section XII: Bedford and Northampton
  • Section XIII: London (SE)
