The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle - Lady (LT)

The Order of the Thistle (or The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle) is an order of chivalry. Said to be founded in AD 787 and revived in 1687 by King James II, and was re-established by Queen Anne, 31st December, 1703. It now consists of the Sovereign and sixteen knights and ladies. At death, the insignia of the Order are returned to the Central Chancery.
