Order of Burma - Member (OB)

The Order of Burma was established by George VI three years after Burma became independent of British India. It was awarded to Governor’s Commissioned Officers of the Burma Army, the Burma Frontier Force and the Burma Military Police, for long, faithful and honourable service. Extended to reward acts of gallantry, or particularly meritorious services, in Sept 1945. Only 33 individuals were ever made members of the order making this one of the rarest decorations ever instituted by the crown.
