Most Exalted Order of the Star of India - Companion (CSI)

Most Exalted Order of the Star of India was instituted by Queen Victoria in 1861. There are three classes: Knight Grand Commander (GSCI) conferred upon Princes or Chiefs of India, or upon British subjects for important and loyal services rendered to the Indian Empire; Knight Commander (KCSI) and Companion (CSI). The two lower classes were bestowed for similar services of not less than 30 years duration.
