Naval Contribution to the Mechanized Column k A APPROACHING ITS RENDEZVOUS WITH THE MARCHING COLUMN in the Victory Parade, the mechanized division of the Royal Navy is seen passing through Parliament Square. Outstanding among London’s decorations for the occasion was the multi-coloured arch (right foreground) opposite the entrance to the House of Commons. Bearing the flags of the 51 United Nations, it displayed on each aside sixteen-foot "Sword of Liberation ’’whose flames were illuminated at night.
