PREPARING TO SAIL A convoy making preparations to outset on a hazardous journey to an unnamed destination. Ships of the Royal Navy guard the convoys well, but despite their watchfulness the enemy still take toll of our merchant vessels and sink without warning. ON A NORTHERN TRADE ROUTE A destroyer of the Royal Navy on duty on one of B ritain’s northern trade routes photographed from a patrolling naval aircraft. It is difficult to imagine that this warship may have gone into action within a few minutes of being photographed. 11.M. DESTROYER FURY A striking photograph of H.M.S. Fury, a “Fearless” Class destroyer with a displacement ot 1,375 tons. Her armament includes four 4.7-in. guns, six smaller ones, and eight 21-in. torpedo tubes. She carries a complement of 145 and has a speed of 30 knots. 74l A
