The“ Freedom o f the Seas" The tit. lion. A.V. Alexander, I1 / 1 .,First Lord of the Admiralty in the Coalition Government* sends the folloivintf message to the S 0 > a Cadet Corps :The Sea Cadet Corps has every reason to be proud of its contribution to our victories so far, but the war at sea will not end with the defeat of Germany. Japan has still to be overthrown, and her defeat depends primarily on sea power. When peace has been restored, the British Commonwealth will still have need of good seamen to help rebuild a war-torn world, and maintain for all men the freedom of the seas. And soto all of you in the Sea Cadet Corps my message is— “Carry on— do not ease down— keep your engines at full speed ahead.” /-290
