Veto The I Must i/t ted a t 1/9 HOMEWARD-BOUND AT SINGAPORE after three-and-a-half years of captivity, this British corporal was one of 40,000 Allied P.O.W. and internees evacuated from the Malayan port by the end of September I94S. On arrival at their destination—Liverpool or Southampton—each ex-P.O.W. is dispatched on leave within forty-eight hours, after a medical inspection and a combined Intelligence and Casualty interrogation.
