Hutchinson's Pictorial History of theWar, Series 10 No. 2

THE NAVY COVERS A CONVOY ATTACK BY ENEMY AIRCRAFT The photographs on this page were taken during the passage of a convoy carrying assistance to Greece. An attack by hostile aircraft is seen here. Bombs arc falling ahead of a battleship, but the leading ships of the convoy are, so far, unmolested. DESTROYERS SWING INTO ACTION The dramatic moment, captured vividly by the camera, when destroyers went into action against the enemy. THE STEAMSHIPS ON Straddled across the horizon, the ships of the convoy continue their course, taking aid to the gallant Greeks. SYMBOLS OF OUR STRENGTH Britain’s naval might in the Mediterranean. H.M.S. Ark Royal, H.M.S. Renown (right) and another battleship photographed off the Rock of Gibraltar. They have proved their quality in recent engagements with the enemy.
