The triumvirate agree to support each ether militarily, economically and politically should anyone of them be attacked by a Power not yet involved in warfare with which they themselves are at present concerned. This little subtlety of Hitler’s appears to aim at forcing America into a conflict with his newest adherent, and thus keeping from the European stage a player calculated to take an important and decisive part in the action of the drama.
