Surely to the gallant men of the 5lst Highland
Division we owe much. In this the second great war
of our generation they have worthily upheld the
glorious tradition of that Division, who fought with
such valour on the fields of Flanders in 1914-18. Now,
they, as gallant sons of honoured fathers fight the
same enemy, and as in former wars, the 51st Highland
Division comes through the fight with honour and
glory over an undoubtedly strong enemy.
Many have expressed the desire to show tangibly
their appreciation to those men, so the above fund has
been formed, and on page 00 an opportunity is given
to those desirous of forwarding a monetary gift towards
this fund, which will be gratefully received, and used
for the benefit of the Officers, Non-Commissioned
Officers and Men of the Division.
