LE QUESNEL COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION Index No. Fr. 504 Lc Quesnel is a village and commune 16) miles (26 kilo metres) south-east o f A miens on the Am iens-Roye road (N.334). The A m iens-R oye bus service passes through the village. The nearest railway station is Mat orcuil on the A m iens-M ontdidicr line and is about 7 miles (11 kilom etres) west of L e Q uesnel but taxis arc available there. The communal cemetery and extension are on the north eastern outskirts o f the village east o f the D.41 road to the neighbouring village o f Caix. The extension is on the eastern side o f the cemetery and dates from the 191-1-1918 War when the village was for sometime in British hands. It was captured by the enem yon March 27th 1918 b u twas re-taken by the 75th Canadian Infantry on August 9th 1918. The cemetery extension was made by the Canadian Corps and the burials number 65. This figure includes three graves transferred from Frcsnoy-en-C haussee Church yard in 1934 to ensure perpetuity and proper maintenance. The names o f the three casualties arc given below.
