WWII Autobiography. “A Full Life” Stanley John Doughty. 12th Royal Lancers

Page 1 1 Introduction On my retirement in May 1981 I had made arrangements to study for an Arts Degree Course with the Open University feeling that I just had to keep my brain active. This gave theme opportunity to read History for which I've always had a life-long interest which in turn made me realize that I knew next to nothing about my parent's lives much less my Grandparents, and made me determined that my Grandchildren if they so desire should have such an opportunity, hence the autobiography. I assure you that it is true to the best of my memory but bear in mind that it is written with a gap of some years and that rose-coloured spectacles may exist although I have deliberately tried to avoid them.
