DEATH AWAITS THE FOE UNWARY Distance and a brief lull in the interchange of fire led many an incautious man to come momentarily from the safetv of cover in the line to fall a victim of the crafty sniper. In this photograph two men of the Rovaf Berks Regiment are shown engaged in sniping work, the sniper with his rifle at the ready above, and the observer below. The scene was enacted within a shattered building at Anton’s Farm, near Ploegsteert Wood, in the spring of 1915. Imperial War Museum II
