THE LANDS WHICH FORM TH E SITES OF THE COM­ MONWEALTH WAR CEMETERIES IN ITALY WERE GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY THE ITALIAN GOVERN­ MENT UNDER THE TERMS OF A WAR GRAVES AGREEMENT SIGNED AT ROME ON 27th AUGUST 1953 BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, THE UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA, INDIA AND PAKISTAN, AND THE GOVERNMENT OF ITALY The particulars given in the registers of the names have been compiled from information furnished by the Records Offices concerned and by the next-of-kin. Plot, Row, and Grave are indicated at the end of each entry by a Roman numeral, a capital letter and an Arabic numeral ; thus II. B. 23 means Plot II, Row B, Grave 23. There is in this cemetery one Special Memorial type ‘ D i.e. bearing the inscription “ Believed to b e ..........”
