ROOSEVELT Under the American Constitution should the President indie office the Vice-President automatically succeeds him for the remainder of the presidential term. Senator Harry Truman the seventh man to become President in this way was bom in Missouri in 1884 and was bank clerk farmer and judge before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 1934. During the last war he served as an artillery officer in France. He was elected candidate for the Presidency Vice by a big majority.
