AMERICAN TROOPS LANDED IN GLIDERS Hundreds of troop-carriers and scores of gliders were employed to transport the airborne force which was landed just before dawn. The gliders in the picture which are alighting on farmland are carrying American soldiers. AIRBORNE TROOPS ON THE WAY Paratroopers in a C-47 of the Troop Carrier Air Division of the 12th Air Force heading for the dropping zone in Southern France. The carrier is approaching the point a t which the descent is to be made. 4341
