Others meeting our Chief of the Imperial General Staff were General Omar Bradley and Field-Marshal Baron Wilson of Libya. Viscount M ontgomery’s nine-day visit to the U.S., primarily to inspect Army installations, included a call on President Truman. He reviewed cadets at the Military Academy, West Point, and placed a wreath on the grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Arlington National Cemetery.
