Grandad, known as Ken or "Dusty", served in the Royal Navy during WW2, including taking part in the Arctic Convoys. None of us will really know what his young eyes saw or what horrors he experienced but we will never forget what he did.

My Great Uncle Richard Down died aged 24 on 30.5.42, Husband of Violet May Down, Middlesex. Brother of my Great nan Florence Down (nee Bolding).
Lost his life for future generations.

Son of George & Ann Harding of Aylesbury Road, Wendover, Bucks.
Died 11th March 1917,aged 23. Killed in action near Clery-sur-Somme, France, when the HQ he was in received a direct hit by enemy mortar.
We shall remember him.

Son of George & Ann Harding of Aylesbury Road, Wendover, Bucks.
Enlisted on 31st December 1907, aged just 19.
Died on or about the 20th June 1916, in captivity following the Siege of Kut, Mesopotamia (Iraq).
We will remember him.

Lance Corporal, 13977 Royal Welsh Fusiliers; 24/08/1918 age 24. KIA Battle of Albert, Flanders.
David, my grandfather's brother, fought in several great battles of WW1. He never came home to his family in Glanamman, S Wales and is buried at Longuevalle in France. I wish I had his photograph but my father, born 4 years later is named after him.

Thomas was one of five brothers to serve in the Great War and the older brother of three who died in the conflict, and the first to fall. Thomas was killed in action on 15.07.1915 at Dardanelles. His name shall live forevermore. Rest in Peace.

Black Watch Royal Highlanders 4th Bn Lance Corporal 3598
In memory of Great Uncle David who died on the 23rd October 1916 in France and whose name is on the Thiepval Memorial which I visited back in 2006. I also placed a cross on the Memorial Wall at the local Black Watch museum. Lest We Forget.
