Private 2341 2nd Monmouthshire Regt
Ernest, 21, was killed on Christmas Day 1914, following the unofficial truce. He was returning from burial duty when shot in the back of the head by a sniper. We visited his grave at Calvaire, near Ploegsteert.
RIP Gt-Uncle Ern. Not forgotten.
