The official published Lists are often one of the best ways to trace an officer's career in the British Services. The Navy Lists include details of where the officer served, their rank, seniority date, decorations and other details. Units covered include Royal Naval Reserve R.N.R., Royal Marines R.M., Royal Naval Voluntary Reserve R.N.V.R. and Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service Q.A.R.N.N.S.. They do not include Non Commissioned Officers, or Junior Ranks and Ratings.
The Navy, Army and Air Force lists on Forces War Records are fully transcribed in house by our expert researchers, they are not merely searchable scans but a full transcription complete with all abbreviations and terms clarified, this makes them easier to search, easier to understand and often more accurate than other alternative versions.
Period covered: 1914
Please be aware that due to the way we collate, and cross reference our databases, some records will contain more information than that listed above.
