VE-Day 75th - ‘Stay at Home street Party'
The 8th May, 2020 marks VE-Day (Victory In Europe) and 75 years since the guns fell silent, thus marking the end of World War II in Europe.
The 75th anniversary was to be commemorated with events across the UK, though due to recent Government guidelines regarding social distancing, an increasing number of events and activities are being cancelled or postponed.
There is now a call for people to host ‘Stay at Home’ Street Parties in their own homes and gardens to celebrate VE-Day. Communities all across Great Britain are starting to get involved and we at Forces War Records are encouraging our members and followers to take part too.
The 'Stay at Home Street Party' is encouraging people to decorate their houses in red, white and blue and enjoy a picnic in their front garden to celebrate.
Do you have any WWII heroes in your family? Maybe you are researching them and your family's military history - search the Forces war records site and fill in the missing pieces...
