Did you know that tomorrow, Saturday, 24th June, is 'Armed Forces Day'? The special day aims to raise public awareness of the contribution made to our country by those brave men and women who serve in the UK forces. Perhaps your family member/members have previously served in the military, or they might be currently serving – Armed Forces Day is for them. And even if you haven’t got any personal military connections we should all give some consideration towards the valuable contribution of the Armed Forces community: from veterans to serving troops, including cadets and service families. The UK Armed Forces defend the country and its interests. Troops are busy working around the world, providing security, delivering aid, and fighting terrorism. Your support provides a valued morale boost for troops and their families. Don’t forget them – especially not Sat 24th June – on their day.
Across the country people are getting involved; communities hold local events and business show their support. Find out how you can get involved and what's going on in your area so that you too can celebrate Armed Forces Day in support of our nation. ‘FIND EVENTS HERE’
Another amusing Armed Forces Day activity is to pay tribute to the armed forces by sending in a picture of you saluting them to #SALUTEOURFORCES on Twitter (and Facebook). If you have forgotten how to salute, or want to learn from scratch, take a look at this link: HERE
