Forces War Records On Who Do You Think You Are Live

For a lucky few, the problem is not so much finding information about their Forces ancestor, it’s knowing what to do with it once they have it! This was the case for a customer who visited us at our ‘Who Do You Think You Are? Live’ stand last year.  He was lucky enough to have in his possession a huge folder detailing his uncle’s entire military career with the East African Army, from the age of 16 onwards, but still didn’t understand what role Mohamed Akbar Khan would have played as a Class One Clerk. Luckily, our Data Team Manager Richard Bartlett was on hand to explain what the file, which had been held by the family for 20 years, signified. Mohamed Akbar Khan, it seemed, was a far more important man within the army than his relatives had ever dreamed, a major cog in the workings of the South East Asia Command! Watch the video now to find out more.
