Forces War Records recently went to the National Archives, Kew to study some of the Telegrams sent just before the start of the Great War.
We will be posting the transcription of the telegrams as they happened 100 years ago.

FROM: C-in-C, East Indies Date 31.7.14
To: Admiralty Received Admy.6.5 am
Considering probable enemies submit desirable transfer Dufferin and Hardinge to Navy and issue proclamation to that effect on outbreak of war. Have requested Government of India in anticipation to authorise shipment of armaments and preparation for vessels forthwith.
