

Dates: 1970 - 1984
HMS Antrim, a County class destroyer built 1966-67. Took part in the Falklands War, she was the flagship of Operation Paraquat to recover South Georgia. She was hit by a 1000lb bomb in San Carlos Water which did not explode.
She was decommissioned in 1984 and sold to the Chilean Navy renamed the Almirante Coltrane. She was finally decommissioned in 2006.
An earlier HMS Antrim exists, a Devonshire class Armoured cruiser ( 1903 - 1922 ) she served and survived the First World War. Post war she was the first ship to be fitted with an experimental sonar system in 1920. Broke up in 1923.
