For the underwater divers of HMS Andromeda, visits to foreign ports are nearly always a pleasure, as it means they are released from most of their normal duties and can get back into their diving suits again. While in Port Elizabeth they have been the guests of two local divers. Standing at the back are, from left, Junior Seaman Chris Wilman, Radio Operator Dennis Rhatigan, Lt Stephen Trodden, the ship's diving officer, Able Seaman Raymond Beechan and Mr Gerry Van Niekerk, of the University of Port Elizabeth. Front (from left) Oridnary Seaman Ronnie Steward, Roadio Operator Roger Anderson (sitting) and Mr Dave Allen, of the Dolphin Underwater Club.
