HMS Ambush

Dates: 1947 - 1967

HMS Ambush, was an Amphion class submarine of the Royal Navy, built by Vickers Armstrong, Barrow-in-Furness, and launched 24 September 1945.
She was decommissioned in 1967. Sold for scrap in 1971 and broken up at Inverkeithing later that year.
A second HMS Ambush is a proposed Asute Class nuclear fleet submarine, laid down at Barrow-in-Furness, in 2003, she is expected to be commissioned in 2010.
