HMS Alfriston

H.M.S. ALFRISTON

A Ton Class Minesweeper H.M.S.Alfriston (M1103) was built by Thorneycroft and launched on 29th April 1953, she displaced 365 tons.

H.M.S. ALFRISTON was the only vessel named ship in the Royal Navy, in May 1954 her name was changed to H.M.S. WARSASH, but reverted to H.M.S. ALFRISTON in 1958.

In 1961 her name was changed again to H.M.S KILMOREY and served until 1975. She was towed to Bruges for breaking up on 28th December 1988.
