Dates: 1903 - 1914 Member of the A class submarines. Built at Vickers, Barrow-in-Furness in 1903-05. Whilst on exercise in Whitsand Bay, Cornwall she sank with the loss of her crew. She was carrying out dummy torpedo runs on HMS Onyx and HMS Pygmy. The location of her wreck has been designated a controlled site under the protection of Military Remains Act.
