Dates: 1942 - 1946 County: Berkshire Location: 1 mile NW of Wantage Usage 1942-1943: Flying training satellite of Brize Norton with Whitleys and Horsa gliders. No. 15 (Pilot) Advanced Flying Unit with Oxfords. 1943-1945: 3rd Tactical Air Depot of IX Air Force Service Command, repairing A-20 Havocs and P-61 Black Widows. 31st Transport Group with C-47’s, 9/44 moved to France returning 1944. 1946 : No. 6 MU for aircraft disposal.
