Added on 04/11/2010Ouston in 1955 was home to 13 Group Headquarters and 607 Aux Squadron (County of Durham). It was alao the admin unit for 3508 Fighter Control Unit (RAF Longbenton).

"Joined RAF, May, 1950.
After Initial and Trade Training posted to HQFEAF and served with the Cost Analysis Section.
Returned to UK March/April and was posted to RAF Ouston, Northumberland to the personnel office with the RAF Regiment there.
After re-training, promoted to Corporal and then posted to the RAF Record Office, Barnwood, Gloucester where I worked win the PSLO Office."
