3 Armoured Car Squadron, R.A.F. Regiment

The squadron was stationed at RAF Fassberg, Germany, between 1947-1949 during the time of the Berlin Airlift. Its commander was Squadron Leader A. W. Gordon at that time. I believe the RAF Regiment was formed during the second world war to guard airfields and 3 (AC) Squadron was a unit within the RAF Regiment. Officers and men of the RAF Regiment wore army khaki uniform with RAF coloured insignia to with begin with but later on they wore RAF uniforms.
