RAF Seaton Snooks



Located on Brenda Rd., Hartlepool, Co Durham. Came into service during WW2 as a Radar GCI station ( Ground Controlled Interception).

Later taken over by Fighter Command. Used to assist with practice interceptions by fighter crews from various stations.

Manned by Signals units, Radar operators and Fighter plotters on a site close by which is now a trading estate

"Were are all the lads who served at RAF Seaton Snooks between 1956 and 1958 ?....you must be out there somewhere. I remember must of us applied to serve in Singapore, Malaya, Hong Kong and Cyprus but finished up at British West Hartlepool, in my case 5 miles from home. At least we tried and we did do our bit to keep the country safe, so come on lets hear from you. "
