Fleet Support Units - Portsmouth

We were billetted at Victory Barracks, and were based in the dockyard. We were staffed by One Officer,a petty officer,3 leading hands & 2 a/bs
all were Radio branch.

We were signalled from Ships at sea,who had faults with radio/radar,that would take too long at sea to fix or could not fix due to lack of shipboard
equipment.

When the ship docked we went aboard, assessed the damage and expedited repairs and or replaced the item with similar serviceable gear from up the gut(cockooned ships).
