Command Pay Offices were a branch of the Royal Army Pay Corps and as such acted just like the Armys Bank. The other branches of the Pay Corps are Regimental Pay Office who looked after ORs pay records etc and Officers Accounts Branch who as their title suggests looked after Officers pay records.
