Fleet Diving Tender Ixworth A381 was a 75 foot fleet tender which had a 6 man crew Based at HMS Vernon. The Ixworth was used to train Clearance Divers and spent most of its time in either Falmouth (Spring/summer months) and Oban (winter months). The Diving Instructors and trainees would travel by road and meet the Ixworth at Falmouth or Oban. Full charging facillities were fitted onboard along with a one man decompression chamber.
