96th Regiment

Dates: 1761 -

Disbanded in 1783, was raised again in 1793 again disbanded in 1796. Raised again as Minorca Regiment in 1798 and then renumbered 97th Regiment (Queens German Regiment).

Restyled in 1812 and renamed to Queens Own (Royal) Regiment, Renumbered again in 1816 to 96th Regiment, disbanded in 1818 and raised again in 1824 in Manchester, in 1881 Renamed and Restyled to 2nd Manchester Regiment.
