  Dates: 1959 - 1985 The H.M.S RHYL was a 2nd of the line named frigate ship, which belonged to the ’Rothesay’ class of ships. The ship had a displacement of 2380 Tons and was launched from the Portsmouth shipyard, on 23/04/1959 The ship was later sunk as a target in August 1985. The 1st of the line was a Minesweeper which was launched from Lobnitz on 21-06-1940 and sold on 28-09-1948 for breakup to King Gateshead.

"I served on HMS Rhyl on a far east deployment in 1973 after we had done a stint on Cod Wat duty. I really would appreciate if anyone can remember the exact dates on that deployment that we were alongside in HMS Tamar Hong Kong."
