Kuwait Liaison Team

Added on 19/05/2010

The Kuwait Liaison Team was sometimes called the Kuwait Army Liaision Team. The term Army in this case referred to the Kuwait Army.
The Kuwait Liaison Team consisted of UK armed forces personnel from both the Army and Royal Airforce. I believe it was set up in 1960 and it was probably still in existence until the first Gulf war when Iraq invaded Kuwait.
The RAF ran a radar station and monitored air traffic control. There was also an RAF instuctor to the Kuwait Army airforce.
The British Army section consited of mainly REME, RAOC RE RA and R Signals.
They were based at a camp near to Mina Al Ahmadi almost next door to the main oil jetty.
