1934-1940: Midland and Scottish Airways airfield.
1942 , 224 Sqn Hudsons.
1942, 304 Sqn Coastal Command Wellingtons.
1942 - 1943, Airfield closed and on Care and Maintenance.
1943 - 1945, 518 Sqn met recce Halifaxes from Stornoway.
1944 - 1945, 281 Sqn Ansons and Warwicks from Thornaby.
1946, Airfield transferred to Ministry of Civil Aviation and civil airfield opened 1947.
