Defence Communication Services Agency

Dates: 1998 - 2007

The Defence Communication Services Agency (DCSA) was responsible for the delivery of Information and Communication Services (ICS) across the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence. These services ranged from fixed and mobile telephones to satellite communication links, and from computers and associated networks/infrastructures to airfield support.

Led by a Chief Executive, the 5,000-strong Agency was a mix of service and civilian staff, based at various locations throughout the UK and around the world. The DCSA ceased to exist as an agency on March 31st 2007 when it was replaced by the Information Systems & Services (ISS) cluster as a part of the new (Defence Equipment & Support) organisation
