HMS Magicienne

The H.M.S MAGICIENNE was a 6th of the line named Minesweeper ship, which belonged to the ’Algerine’ class of ships.

The ship had a displacement of 860 Tons and was launched from the Redfern Toronto shipyard, on 24/06/1944.

The ship arrived at Cashmore in Newport on 20/03/1956 for breaking up.

The 1st of the line was a 5th Rate 32 which the French captured on 02/09/1781 by CHATHAM in N.America. It was Burnt at Mauritius on 27/08/1810 to avoid capture by the French after grounding.
