RNAS Eastleigh: (RAF Eastleigh), (RAF Southampton), (HMS Raven), Eastleigh, Hampshire (1918-1946)

War Office commences building an Aircraft Acceptance Park in 1917 but transfers the site to US Navy before completion.
US Naval Air Service (1918 - 1919) as Naval Air Station Eastleigh
RAF (1919 - 1920) as RAF Eastleigh
Unlicensed landing ground (1920 - 1932)
Southampton Council purchased the land in 1929 and, in November 1932, officially reopened the airport. Airline services started in 1934
Fleet Air Arm started using a site in the NE corner of the airfield as RAF Eastleigh 1935.
Airfield used to fly prototype Spitfire on 5 March 1936.
Station name changed to RAF Southampton 1/8/36. Commissioned as HMS Raven on 1/7/39
