No1 Movement Control (AER) Sergeants Mess 1956/7 Longmoor

The unit was at Northern command H.Q Grange Garth,York. and covered an area from Cumberland across to Northumberland down the east coast taking in durham,Yorks Lincolnshire,Notts Derbys Lester,Rutland and Parts of Cambridgeshire Was responsible for all Road and Rail Movements in this area.There was a Sqdn Leadr C.O and two Flt Lts with Sgts Cpls and airmen.also responsible the USAF and RCAF and sometimes R.N.

Movement Control units were stationed in various parts of Germany ie. Guttersloh, Hanover and at least one other.

They were responsible for all rail and air trooping within Germany in addition to transporting forces freight.
